New Hampshire has joined the ranks of states with live and legal sports betting.
On Dec. 30, 2019, Gov. Chris Sununu placed the first online wager via DraftKings Sportsbook, betting on the New England Patriots to win Super Bowl LIV.
Eight months later, DraftKings launched retail sports betting becoming the first and only option in the state. Customers can now place in-person wagers at the DraftKings Sportsbook at The Brook which opened August 12.

Sununu paved the way for sports betting to enter the Granite State in July. His signature on bill H 480-FN opened the door for the New Hampshire Lottery to begin offering licenses for both retail and online sports betting in New Hampshire.

On the eve of New Year’s Eve, DraftKings rolled out an online sportsbook for New Hampshire residents.
Leading up to launch, the New Hampshire Lottery scored a selection of vendors to determine which would be most appropriate for New Hampshire’s purposes.

DraftKings was the definitive frontrunner from that survey and lo and behold, was selected to be the first sports betting operator to make an appearance. The company, sporting black and green, scored highest for both its mobile and retail channels, and was second only to Intralot in the lottery channel.
